A provocative dress costs them in prison

Vietnamese model Ngoc Trinh can soon be found in court due to questionable dress at the Cannes festival.

Vietnam, whose laws are very strict when it comes to public extension of its citizens abroad, can punish the new attractive model not only with high fines but also in prison, if proven its clothing harms the country's reputation, Kosovo Press broadcasts.

Its “Gardob was inappropriate, insulting, and provoked public protest. We determine whether there is grounds for prosecution for legal violations of public order and tranquillity”, says the Vietnam Ministry of Culture statement.

So far, in practice, it has been shown that many other public figures in Vietnam have had consequences because of public presentations abroad.
