Thaci has written that he appreciates the commitment Ahmeti and Limaj were willing to take in dialogue, at a time when the country was boiling with political debates.
He says the Constitution is our guide in every step towards strengthening our citizenship and towards the Euro-Atlantic integration of our state.
He has written that no one alone can take the burden of resolving a century-old conflict with Serbia.
Thaci's full post:
The Republic of Kosovo has been, is, and will always be committed to strengthening peace and stability through dialogue and the European road, with the support of the US and all our partners. The Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo is our guide in every step towards strengthening our citizenship and towards the Euro-Atlantic integration of our state. But, no one alone can take the burden of resolving a century-old conflict with Serbia, so I have always appealed for political unity in this very important process for our country and citizens. Kosovo, an independent and integrated state in the EU, NATO and the UN, in peace and good neighbourly relations, is our duty to new generations, which should not grow with interethnic hatred and cargo what we have had. We have won the war, and we must also gain peace for the citizens of all communities living in our multiethnic society. As president of the country, I deeply appreciate the political will and individual accountability of the leaders of the Negotiator Team, who, when Kosovo is boiling from depleted political debates, have been able to go beyond them and take on state responsibilities. In line with the Constitution and political will, the leaders of institutions, political leaders of all subjects, must be united in the process of dialogue on reaching the peaceful agreement, which opens the perspective of Kosovo's integration and ends isolation and stagnation!
