Based on a survey conducted by the Japanese government, half the population seeking to get married does not find an ideal partner.
The collected data is disturbing, given the decline in fertility, which is considered to be among the lowest in history.
About 4,000 males and women aged 20 to 40 said they could not find the ideal partner.
Among the reasons listed by Kyodo News Agency are the lack of opportunity to meet the partner and disagree with the opposite gender.
Meanwhile, a parallel survey revealed other alarming data: the birth rate has dropped during 2018, with 918 fewer births a year.
Even the fertility level has declined, which has caused the German government to take steps to stimulate it.
