A final agreement with Serbia will offer new opportunities and will open the doors that today are closed for Kosovo. The 43-year-old politician, who is the first woman in Norway to lead with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, encourages Kosovo and Serbia to resume the dialogue on normalisation of reports, facilitated by the European Union.
Despite the fact that the tax on Serbian goods has made it difficult to continue dialogue between the two countries, she hopes that a mutual and acceptable agreement will be reached this year, as the procurement can always bear risks. “I hope this year can be a window of opportunity to reach an acceptable mutual agreement. Prolongation can always involve risks, as it is difficult to predict the future situation both inside and abroad”, Séreide has confirmed.
Norwegian top diplomat has also spoken of President Thaci's idea of restructuring the border with Serbia, saying an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia should be in line with international law, ensuring regional stability, maintaining Kosovo as a multiethnic society and being applicable. “Brend this framework I believe it belongs to the parties themselves to identify what may be an acceptable solution from both sides”, it has reached out
