His lawyer told the AFP news agency that the former leader was buried in eastern Cairo early Tuesday morning with his family, the only ones present, Klan Kosova reports.
Mores, who was 67, was in custody since his departure in 2013.
Human rights groups, who had criticised the conditions under which he was held, have called for an impartial investigation into his death.
His family and activists had repeatedly raised concerns about his health while he was kept in isolation, away from visits by lawyers and family.
His son Abdullah Mohammed Morsi told Reuters on Monday that Egyptian authorities have denied the family's request for a public funeral in his hometown.
