Marriage - The Truth You Must Know

Many of us are filled with hope and happiness when they decide to marry. Love makes people more optimistic. However, marriage requires effort, and it is not easy to maintain a long, healthy relationship.

The therapist of a couple, Winifred Reilly, speaks of many things she has learned from her 40-year marriage:

You must always remember that your marriage is partnership, not slavery. It's wonderful to get what you want, but your partner is not obliged to do all your real desires and dreams. You both have to accept this and work for your relationship to work.

-It's important to take responsibility for all the difficulties that happen in your life. Of course, there's a much easier way to deal with this. Just blame your partner. But that's not healthy for your relationship.

- You and your partner are different. You must accept that fact. You don't have to try to change the person of your heart. Just try both of you to improve things you don't do very well.

- Forget the words: This thing is devastating, because you will always wait for the other person.

-Look at your conflicts as an opportunity to grow, because they can show what you really need and what your strengths are.

-Ask your partner's opinion when you have an intense conversation. The simple question, “What do you think of this? ” can help you relax and look at the situation from another angle, the magazine writes. Your partner will also feel better, because that means you care about his opinion.
