The former prime minister of Northern Macedonia wrote in his letter of resignation that he wanted not to put his party's colleagues VMRO- DPMNE. Opposition deputies, meanwhile, said Mr. Gruevski had not been allowed to reason on his absence for over six months, charging power for his persecution. Under parliament's regulation, Nikola Gruevski in a 30-day term may seek a salary at the height with the MP's monthly salary in length of one year.
Mr. Gruevski was sentenced to two years in prison by the Constitutional Court in Skopje because of his role during a tender for the purchase of a Mercedes car worth about 600 thousand euros for his private and official needs. Charges of other criminal acts are also charged against him, but Mr. Gruevski has found refuge in Budapest since it can hardly be extradited to northern Macedonia.
On Tuesday, parliament also approved the resignation of parliamentary majority MP Pavle Bogojevski, who was found under pressure from opposition and widespread opinion over a scandal involving narcotics, following a telephone conversation published by a Russian website. Mr. Bogoyevski says he had asked for a small amount of cannabis oil for health effects for one of his family members, but the opposition led by VMRO- The DPMNE brought charges and suspicions that the MP was using cocaine.
Parliament quickly approved two new deputies instead of Master Gruevski and Bogojevski. /voa
