A new study of body - image effects found that only 24 percent of men and 20 percent of women were satisfied with their weight and that these feelings dictated their lives in general.
To understand the relationship between body image and pleasure with life, researchers at Chapman University conducted an online study with more than 12,000 U.S. adults.
They found that people who were dissatisfied with their weight had low self-respect rates and were less satisfied with different aspects of their lives.
Meanwhile, study participants who have reported positive feelings for their body have had more self-respect and satisfaction with life, relations, family and financial conditions.
Three tips to provide body satisfaction:
1. Practice self-mercy
Simply say, self- pity is the same as the kindness and care we give to a good friend. Keep a diary, and mark your feelings to understand the way to solutions.
2. Enough of shame for your body
If you feel bad about your body, you can overcome it with practice. Knowing what causes your negative feelings will help you to find wholesome alternatives.
3. Throw yourself into something you want
Disatisfaction fights things that make you feel good, such as yoga with a friend, cooking a tasty meal, or taking care of yourself. You deserve it!
