The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, praised Skopje's success and urged EU member states to open membership talks with northern Macedonia and also stressed that such evidence of reliable European perspective can serve as motivation for continuing the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
If a country and its leadership fulfill everything that is required of them, and have no adequate responsibility on the part of the EU, then there is no motivation in other countries. On the contrary, it could delay negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, “said Hahn.
Hahn during Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev's visit to Brussels praised Skopje's progress for reforms and agreements reached with Greece and Bulgaria.
