The EU statement came hours before the start of the opposition protest. In the same line has been German ambassador accredited to Albania Shultz, which strongly calls on all sides to take over their responsibilities for the country.
The German ambassador said in an interview given to the DW, a solid electoral system should be built with the understanding of the parties. She said that,
“We express great regret, which despite initially good co-operation between the majority and opposition, election reform has so far not been adopted. Implementation of O recommendations SBE/ The ODIHR remains an important component in building a solid electoral system in Albania, which can enjoy citizens' trust.
Ambassador calls for” Albania will not waste time in establishing reformed justice institutions. Shulz also says that, from the organisers of Friday's protest, he expects to engage with all possibilities for a peaceful development, as well as to measure their responsibility through public appeal for peaceful protests.
One thing is clear: violent assault is not legitimate means of political confrontation. Even in the EU statement, violence is condemned, we are told that law enforcement authorities also have the responsibility to continue acting on content, even if provoked.
