The EU delegation has appeared in a public statement calling for avoiding any form of inciting violence in terms of the voting process on June 30th.
With the vote to be held on June 30, 2019, it is imperative that citizens exercising their rights do so in a regular manner. It is the direct responsibility of all political actors to ensure that the voting activities do not stumble”, the statement said.
Further stressed: “Any violent action or any form of temptation to violence are absolutely unacceptable in any kind of circumstances. All political sides must show restraint and avoid provocative rhetoric”.
Also reportedly voting process will be monitored by an international mission led by O SBE/ The ODIHR, which includes observers from several European Union member states.

Albanian citizens should be able to exercise their right to vote fairly and peacefully. Given the votes that will take place on June 30th, 2019, it is imperative that citizens exercising their rights do so in a regular manner. The demonstration held in Tirana on 21 June 2019 was peaceful and the same democratic principles and values should be preserved this weekend. Any violent action or any form of temptation to violence are absolutely unacceptable in any kind of circumstances. All political sides must show restraint and avoid provocative rhetoric. All parties must engage in a real dialogue, as soon as possible, to overcome the current political situation in order to focus their efforts on supporting and consolidating the progress made by Albania so far in its reform process on its path to European Union integration.
