He through a reaction has said that, this case is a powerful indicator that for the Roma community, the Egyptian Ashkali has no rule of law in Kosovo.
He has said you no longer need pity, but need respect and actions from each Kosovo citizen.
According to him, the event of repeated attacks on a member of the Roma community is very disturbing for Kosovo society.
I, as leader of the Egyptian Liberal PLE Party and representative of the Egyptian community, strongly condemn this act and personally follow the legal course for all participants to respond to justice. This case is very powerful indicator that for the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, there is no rule of law in Kosovo, and those are consistently violated by the most basic rights in life”, he says.
According to Berisha, such an act leads to exclusion and hostility and creates a major obstacle for people to enjoy their human rights fully.
He says that protection of human rights, law enforcement and undisputed expressions are the principles of society that together by respecting them would guarantee a better life for all Kosovo citizens.
Kosovo's “Republic has at its core the Constitution, which is the guarantor of individual rights. If an inclusive society based on equal rights is going to be a reality, society cannot allow any part of its members to be humiliated, disfellowshipped, physically injured or forced into self - denial”, he added.
Berisha has said they do not accept formal statements of political leadership, but require consistent actions of laws and constitutions.
“We do not accept the formal statements of the Kosovo political leadership, but we seek conform actions of the best laws and Constitution in Europe, which unfortunately is only on paper. It is even more painful and disturbing that the attack has been carried out by students and young people who represent Kosovo's future only because it was unprotected and was coloured”, he wrote.
He says, state bodies are needed according to international obligations and the Kosovo Constitution to ensure equal treatment, equality and security for all its citizens.
“should not be allowed to damage human dignity. Such actions are contrary to the community's commitment to creating a state of equal citizens who will guarantee the rights of each citizen, civic freedom and equality of all citizens”, Berisha wrote.
According to him, state institutions at present have failed to guarantee human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the rights of communities defined in the Constitution of Kosovo, especially in representation and equal treatment in all areas of life.
The disrepute between what is written on paper and the reality of life has led to the famous event of these days. Lus citizens for content and calm I call the law bodies for concrete actions so that the acts can receive deserved punishment and the country's institutions work sincerely for the informal integration of communities into society”, he said, thanking those who condemned the act.
