“Trust in politicians is very low, young people are leaving”.
The high unemployment rate is highlighted here, and Kosovo youth's efforts to move abroad for a better future in view of their existence elsewhere.
Germany remains one of the most popular directions.
Kosovo is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its liberation from Yugoslavia and NATO achievement. But there's some euphoria there. Unemployment is high, and confidence in politicians is low. The number of young people who see their future elsewhere has also increased. One of the most popular countries is Germany”, Deutsche Welle writes.
Guy De Launey, who shows how Kosovo Albanians wait for hours before the German Embassy in Pristina to apply for a working or student visa.
Meanwhile, he has interviewed Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who says Kosovo is working to prevent such a thing from happening.
German is the state that awaits them. Which awaits more Kosovars than any other country in Europe. It's very boring that running continues. We have to work hard to keep this from happening. We have to give an alternative to our people, for a job here in Kosovo”, Haradinaj has said.
The government's number one added that it is working to absorb foreign investments, however, says it is very serious to see how Kosovars are leaving.
“We are working to absorb foreign investments, from Europe, the US, hoping for the creation of new jobs, but it is very difficult to see how young people escape”, Haradinaj says among other things.
However, even youths interviewed say that flight occurs because of a corrupt political class, which makes them see no hope in Kosovo for future construction.
