Cosmetic products harm thousands of children

According to a newly published study, a considerable number of children under the age of 5 have been damaged by cosmetic products.

According to the study of the clinical magazine” Journal of Clinical Peniatrics” (”Gazeta of Clinical Paddy”), which monitored US emergency departments in 2002-2016, about 65 thousand children under the age of 5 were sent to hospitals because of injuries from cosmetics.

”Dumptions were most frequently linked to finger care products (28.3%), hair products (27%), skin care (25%) and scent products (12.7%)”, the study suggested.

According to the study, 2-year-old children were mostly injured and the most common diagnosis was poisoning, where 86,2% of children damaged were poisoned by cosmetic products.

The study also notes that boys have suffered more damage compared to girls, and that 99% of injuries occurred in domestic environments.
