Ardian Ismajli had been part of Kosovo's national team U-21 and then debuted on the first team, May 29th, 2018. This debut, given to coach Bernard Chalande, he did just that in the friendly match against Albania, which Kosovo won with a score of 3:0, writes the Express newspaper.
However, he later decided to continue his career with the Albanian National. Since the only match he had held for Kosovo was friendly, FIFA allowed him to switch the national team.
The 22-year-old playing for Hajduk Split debuted with Albania on November 17th of 2018, and has since since then made a total of four presentations.
“The replacements made their own, all depending on the team. Iceland has won with Turkey, we are now closer to Turkey, and we have a direct match of”, Ishmael told RTSH.
Kosovo is where I was born, but we are all Albanians. We've had defense work, they've made a lot of moves. We had to move all the time to shut down”.
Albania competes in Group H qualifications for the 2020 European Championship, while Kosovo in Group A. Qualification through groups is Albania's only opportunity to participate in EURO 2020, while Kosovo can secure a place in that race even through play-offs for qualifications.
