Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini, during his stay in Bulgaria, has held a special meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart, Tsveta Karayancheva.
The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and the respective parliaments, as well as opportunities to strengthen co-operation in areas of mutual interest.
Chief Parliamentary Veselin said Kosovo and Bulgaria should intensify relations between them, much more so when the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is now marked.
“Bulgaria is one of the states that has greatly helped Kosovo in all processes since 1999. It's one of the first countries to know our country in 2008. Now, within the EU is the voice of Kosovo promotion”, Veselin stressed.
The Speaker of the Parliament added that official Sofia's support for Kosovo continues to remain important, both in carrying out its legislative experience and in strengthening the international subjectivity of our state and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
“More pledged that Bulgaria will consistently be alongside Kosovo, in all the processes and challenges it has before itself on the path to European integration. Bulgaria is a supporter of the visa liberalisation process, is a supporter of Interpol, and in any process Kosovo's application for membership in international institutions”, said Chief Parliamentary Veselin.
He voiced confidence that a new era of co-operation will now be opened in the economic and trade field between the two countries. Bulgaria's Parliament Speaker Tsveta Karayancheva, in turn, confirmed her state's support for Kosovo in the future, especially on the path to European integration.
