The family of Alek Sigley, a 29-year-old student living in Penian, failed to confirm whether he was arrested or not, but said they had not contacted since Tuesday.
Australian officials were trying to understand his condition, family members announced.
“has not been confirmed if Alec has been arrested. The situation is that Alek has not been in contact with friends and family since Tuesday morning with the Australian clock, which is unusual for him”, says the student's statement.
Family and friends cannot say why Sigley could have been arrested.
