Albanians are getting married younger. According to data published by INSTAT for 2018, there is a tendency to reduce the age of people who decide to say “po” on the altar.
The average age of girls wearing a ring is 24, and 26 for males. Compared to a year ago, this age was higher.
Although this phenomenon shows increased prosperity, sociologists have other reasons for younger marriages.
Because of this decision by young people, society is facing some consequences.
In 2018 there were 23 thousand new couples registered, an increase of 2%. Even though we have more marriages, we do not share the equivalent of fertility.
Young people today are following more and more family planning. Thus, the traditional family where the high number of children was priority has waned in the goals of young couples, bringing the number of offspring to one.
