The Ministry of Trade and Industry has denied planning to impose protection measures or reciprocity on Albania.
The head of this dictatorship, Andrew Shala, in an interview for Top Channel has said that all the non-tarifort barriers Kosovo businesses have encountered during exports to this state have been eliminated since holding the two governments' collection in November.
Now, according to him, there are only two Tatar barriers: the tax on the nation's road and scanners, which are hard working to solve.
“So far, we don't need to take measures in relation to the Republic of Albania for reasons that any obstacle that emerged during doing business between the two countries, our institutions already, even with the national co-ordinator, each obstacle is being resolved in the as soon as possible”, the minister said.
The minister says he is convinced that barriers imposed by Albania are not intentional.
He has also talked about the impasse North Macedonia has made for importing live fish from Kosovo.
“We are waiting for the CEFTA Secretariat's response to the issue, if they as an organisation do not react to this move determined by Northern Macedonia, then Kosovo is obliged to take reciprocity measures with Northern Macedonia, but I do not believe it will ever happen to us with Albania”, Shala has said.
In a European Union research, Albania was third behind Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the establishment of trade barriers to Kosovo producers.
But, despite barriers, Kosovo has scored export growth in Albania of 26 percent for the period 2015-2018.
