60 Albanian citizens who had sought asylum in France have been repatriated today at the Rinas airport.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Rowena Voda and Department of Border and Migration Director of the State Police were present during the repatriation of 60 Albanian citizens who had sought asylum in France
Deputy Interior Minister Rowena Voda called on citizens not to seek asylum, as this could penalise in the future. According to her, citizens caught outside the Schengen movement rules will not be allowed to move free into Schengen space.
I call on all citizens of Albania to respect the rules of free movement in the Schengen area. For some reason. First for themselves, the fact that it is a great cost for them to travel to these countries, leaving everything behind and then to return and resume from scratch and here to our country. Also, this is an unfair path and leads nowhere, criminalised and no longer allowed to travel to the Schengen area states”, Voda suggested.
“I need to announce that under the visit of Albanian Interior Minister to France some time ago, the French Interior Minister agreed that the repatriation procedures would be more frequent. So please Albanian citizens, it is their right to migrate, but to choose the path of safe migration”, Voda stressed.
