Helicopter MI-17 crashed about 90 kilometers from the town of Yalpan de Sierra, where he was helping to extinguish the fire that had engulfed the mountains.
The reasons for the crash have not yet been made clear. A research team found several parts of the helicopter during the morning, reports Euronews, broadcast Gazeta Express.
Officials, including the president of Mexico, Andres Maneul Lopez Obrador, kept a minute of silence in the evening as a reminder of those who lost their lives.
Dead people were found on the mountain today. The dead were part of Mexico's military personnel.
