German Economic Oda and the German Organisation for International Co-operation have launched the Clean Energy Business Network.
The Kosovo Energy Efficiency Project aims to promote private sector development, promote public debate and address legal issues for clean energy to public institutions.
In this case German Ambassador to Kosovo Christian Heldt has declared that electricity in Kosovo is mostly spent on residential homes.
“60 per cent of energy consumption in Kosovo is spent on residential homes, while private sector participation is very low”.
The German diplomat added that the government of Germany has supported the energy sector in Kosovo, with a focus on renewable energy and efficient energy, and will continue to support this sector.
Meanwhile, Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka said that in the renewable energy and efficient energy sector, about 100m euros will be invested in the next three years.
“Currently installed 77 MW/h renewable energy and 22 other projects with capacity of 178 are under way MW/h”
Through the Clear Energy Business Network, Oda German-Kosovo and GIZ will serve as the bridge between the public and private sector in Kosovo, O'S Director has said SEEK, Nora Hasani, announces GIZ.
Currently GIZ is promoting the public debate on Efficient Energy, including standards and legislation, while the German-Kosovo Economic Oda, as a member of the National Economic Development Council under the prime minister as well as the Office of the Community for Business in the Parliament, can offer inputs to promote the interests of member companies in the Network.
By the end of the year, the Clean Energy Business Network will have two more meetings. This network will be open to all companies that want to contribute to the development of the clean energy market and efficient energy.
