In an interview for Radio Europe Free Radio, Hahn confirmed that the recommendation will be published on May 29th, when the European Commission will clarify the annual report on the progress of countries in the enlargement process.
For two weeks we will present our annual report, where we will definitely recommend opening negotiations for the two countries (North Macedonian and Albania)”, Hahn said.
As the European commissioner stressed, it depends on EU member states whether they would agree to the European Commission's recommendation.
The two countries meet the conditions, and now it is left to member states to come up with political estimates”, Hahn said.
Otherwise, this will be Albania's first and tenth recommendation for northern Macedonia.
