Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and former national football team captain Lorik Cana laid down Iftar for Muslim believers fasting in Ramadan.
At the dinner specially prepared for them at the Youth Centre on “Myslym Svisi”, Mayor Veliaj assured that Tirana's municipality always has attention to people in need, the elderly, the disabled and various social groups, to create for them a warm family environment.
I am very happy today for several reasons: We often make parties and dinners for personalities, leaders of religion, ambassadors, but the thing that gives me the most satisfaction, I'm sure also of Lorik, is when we do respect and honor for those who come to our social centers, where there's a job not only during Ramadan, not for Christmas or Easter, not just for Bajram, but every day, with the same passion, love of humility”.
Veliaj expressed gratitude for his dedication to this noble task even to the staff of Tirana's social centres, which help many of those who are struggling and need support.
For all boys and girls of our social centers, God bless you and accept fasting: May all of you accept your wonderful service to the most needy citizens of Tirana and I believe, all of us come from the heart, song of gratitude and respect for your work and dedication”.
While praising the initiative taken by the Tirana City Hall to come to the aid of those unable to, the former captain of the football national who led Albania to the European Championship, congratulated the faithful so that God can accept sacrifice and fasting.
It was a great pleasure when Erion and the municipal team, with the volunteers, joined us today. I do it with great pleasure. I see you're older than us. I've been raised out for 15 years and I haven't had a lot of opportunity to see my grandparents, I'm going more often, but I miss you, so I'm trying to get this shit out with you guys. May God accept your sacrifice and fasting”, Cana has said.
In all its social means, Tirana City Hall has chosen the blessed days of the month of Ramadan to serve Iftar for people in need, the elderly, the disabled and various social groups.
