Kosovo citizens deserve a justice system that holds individuals responsible for their corrupting actions.
In this regard, the US Embassy is taking steps to ensure that individuals involved in major corruption cases are not issued travel visas to the United States for business or tourism.
It is the practice of consular officials examining the facts for each visa application, including any negative information regarding the applicant, and of determining the appropriateness for obtaining a visa based on US laws. According to the need, we constantly weigh the charges and evidence for corruption and organised crime during visa decision-making, in order to limit those contributing to these problems from obtaining visas for travel to the United States.
We will continue to publicly express our concern that no one is being held responsible, including Kosovo officials, for corruption and organised crime that are clearly present in Proto cases, Italian visas, leaving Dubrava prison, Earth, and Appex, as well as in similar cases.
