Zeynep: Health Ministry Takes Measures or Responsibilities

In the week's interview, Zeynep has found it necessary to address those in charge who are causing serious drug shortages from time to time. According to Zeynep, the issue of concern is how drug contracts are managed. KD: Public Health is one of the most critical sectors in recent weeks. How do you view these developments?

Zeynep: In the Ministry of Health, there has been a series of reforms that have been undertaken and in many cases increased the quality of health services, as well as the costs of buying drugs for a string of articles.

There has also been an initiative to regulate the price of drugs through secondary legislation that makes the purchase of drugs in public procurement and not only predictable in financial costs.

However, major problems remain in contract management, initiating new contracts, when they are close to completion and others. An issue of concern is also management of drug and saving stocks, as there is no drug use system from the economic operator to the patient.
