This spring is marking the 20th anniversary of war crimes in Kosovo. During these days, anniversarys of many massacres, murders, injuries, torture, and other war crimes have been marked. The 20th anniversary of these crimes also reminds many survivors of sexual violence during the Kosovo war, but never publicly declared for the horrors experienced.
Surviving sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman, with the help and support of the Kosovar Centre for the rehabilitation of Torture Survivors (QKRMT), on October 16, 2018, spoke for the first time publicly about its experience during the war.
On April 14, 1999, Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman; at the time of 16 years, he was kidnapped by a Serb police officer and sent to the village of Babost of the Obilic municipality, where he was sexually violated by a police officer and a civilian.
On the 20th anniversary of this horror, Krasniqi Goodman has decided to visit the crime scene, where despite efforts to seek justice, the perpetrators have remained unpunished.
