Twitter Users Number Grows

Social Twitter network shares increased by 17% today after the firm reported increasing the number of users and revenues.

The company posted $787m in the first three months of 2019, an 18% increase compared to a year ago, while the number of active users a day increased by 11% to 134m.

The results sparked criticism from United States President Donald Trump, who accused the platform of political discrimination.

Social networks have come under increasing pressure to monitor the content that is published after a series of scandals involving them from user privacy, hate speech and political campaigns.

Over the past year, the total number of platform users dropped from 336 million to 321 million and Twitter, said it came from closing false and abusive accounts.

But in the last three months, there were 330 million users again.
