On 25 January this year, the parole panel had released him from prison, former Kosovo Liberation Army General Staff Commander Sylejman Selimi.
His lawyer, Tome Gashi, had confirmed that the panel founded by the Judiciary Council has made a decision on Selimi's parole.

On May 24, 2013, Sylejman Selimi was arrested and later convicted of a criminal offence of war crimes against the civilian population by the Constitutional Court in Mitrovica. He was sentenced to six years in prison.
