Of the 11 million food - related deaths, 10 ml was the result of cardiovascular disease, which explains why salt is the main problem. Mediterranean countries, particularly France and Spain, as well as Israel, have the world's smallest death rate, while on the other side of the spectrum remain the countries of Southeast and South and Central Asia.
