The Government Bill is expected to proceed to the Kosovo Assembly in late May.
Thus has the national co-ordinator for state reforms, Besnik Tahiri, announced, under which its implementation, could begin within this mandate. The PSD, which had set the stage for drafting this bill to support the budget, expects its proposals to be taken into account.
It was in advance for March, but the Government Bill is expected to go to the Assembly for approval at the end of May. Co-ordinator for state reforms in the Government of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, has indicated that before going to the government, this bill will have broad consultation with parliamentary parties, with civil society, but also consultancy on the platform online, Radio Kosova reports. As far as its implementation begins, Tahiri believes it will start from the current government. But, he said it would take time for the functional reshuffle of ministries.
With this law, the idea is for some ministries to join, the number of deputy prime ministers, ministers to be reduced. All of this requires reorganization not only in the ministry but also in departments. As long as this takes time, it must be determined in the government's decision, but it can take nine months to one year, meaning it will enter this Government”, Tahiri told Radio Kosovo.
The issue of the Law on Government has come as a condition of the Social Democrat Party. This opposition subject, among the conditions to support the budget, had also set the issue of this law. Nature Kuci, spokeswoman for this party, said that when the draft law goes to the Parliament, The PSD will propose its changes, one of which is that each minister has only two deputy ministers and no more.
“We will postpone, we will insist that the implementation and we expect will be realised, since one of the PSD's conditions for the budget vote has been this way to reduce the number of deputy ministers”, Kuci told Radio Kosovo.
Condition The PSD was to adopt this bill within three months, but it is expected to go to the Assembly at the end of May. This is because, according to state reform co-ordinators Besnik Tahiri, this bill is the second largest step of state reform following the adoption of the Law of Salaries, the Law for Public Officials and the Law for the organisation and functioning of state administration and executive agencies. In view of this, Tahiri said there would be no rush for his proceedings, without all necessary consultations being completed, so as he said, the draft law in the Assembly would be backed by two-thirds of MPs.
