The councillor of the head of the assembly, Blerim Latifi, has made a post in his Facebook profile concerning the death of former Yugoslav communist dictator Slobodan Milosevic's wife.
He calls Mira Markovic as “The Lady Macbethin” of the Balkans, based on the tragedy written nearly four centuries ago by William Shakespeare, entitled “Makbeth”, writes Periscope.
Lady Macbeth drives Lord Macbeth [based on a real historical character] towards a foolish ambition and crimes in the struggle to gain power.
This is Mr. Latif who seems to be enjoying his Facebook:
Shakespeare and Mira Markovic
Shakespeare, in his tragedy “Mackbeth”, makes one of the best exhumations of wild ambition for power. There we find the character of a cruel woman, Lady Macbeth, who actively supports her husband in power crimes.
Mira Markovic, Milosevic's wife, who died today, deserves to remain in history as Balkan Lady Macbeth.
