Kim's remarks during talks with Putin on Thursday aimed at pushing Washington to be more flexible for North Korea's demands for easing international sanctions.
US President Donald Trump, who concluded a second meeting with Kim in February, saw an agreement for North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons, said many advances were made towards an agreement and welcomed Putin's support.
President Putin said after holding the first face-to-face talks with Kim at the Russian Pacific port of Vladivostok on Thursday, that US security guarantees would probably not be enough to convince jinn to give up his nuclear programme.
He said he believed that any US guarantees could have to be supported by other countries involved in previous six-way talks on the nuclear issue, including Russia, China, Japan and South Korea, as well as the United States and North Korea.
I think we're doing very well with North Korea. Many advances have been made”, Trump told reporters at the White House. “E praised President Putin's statement yesterday. He wants to see it too. I think there's a lot of excitement about getting a deal with North Korea”.
