Health Minister Uran Ismaili, the “Zyra of the Anques”, at RTV Dukaagjini, has talked about doctors' employment in health institutions and the ongoing drug problems at the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo (QKUK).
Ismaili said that this year they will begin with doctors' specialisations in order to increase employment opportunities.
So general doctors' specializations will begin. We will also open up specialization for family medicine to become specialists in this area and thus increase the likelihood of them hiring”, he said.
The minister said that for the small number of medics' employment, the problem has been budgetary, but as he said last year, the possibility of hiring nurses and doctors has increased this year.
It is true that we have had a small number of doctors employed in public institutions, but still no budget has been allowed for a long time. Now we're starting to raise that budget. We've increased employment opportunities of nearly 350 health workers. This year there will be over 100 nurses and 100 doctors. We've also asked Oda doctors to give us a list of those who are unemployed. Everyone can't be employed at QKUK because they often hesitate to go to other areas and want everyone to come to Pristina and that's not right, because it also makes it worse for people to get services near general hospitals....”, Ismaili, writes Telegrafi.
According to him, the drug issue has been and it's a big problem.
These problems will be avoided this year. It took a big focus on you to reduce the prices of drugs. We've been working on big things that have a long-term effect. Small problems as gloves, masks etc”, he said.
The minister of Health also indicated that in several months drugs will be opened in the QKUK departments.
We've started a project where we're going to open over 100 small drugstores inside the QKUK department, because there's not a drug store that will have limited access, camera, computer inside. There is also what happens when one clinic has gloves and the other does not because of poor distribution. Over the next two or three months, we will release all 100 drugstores and thus create an electronic system in the entire QKUK”, Health Minister Ismaili Bridge said among other things.
