We can surely judge by the marks that our body gives us, yet not always that is the proper way to act. Are we really tired and have muscle pains, or do we simply lack motivation? Are we pushing ourselves toward reaching our goal, or are we overexploring our bodies because of excessive exercise? These seemingly simple questions have a little more complex answers.
Experts say that there is no exact answer on how often we need to exercise and that this primarily connects with the goals you have set for yourself and the fact that everyone is different. Normally, someone who competes in a marathon will experience more intensity than someone who runs from time to time to keep his body in shape.
Furthermore, it is said that frequency is related to the type of training: If you exercise the muscles of a different part of your body daily - shoulders, abdomins, legs, backs, and so forth, you give this muscular area of relaxation in the coming days as you exercise the next area; on the other hand, if your type of training is linked to cardio, cycling, or other disciplines will not need so much to recover yourself, it transmits the ball.
We also need to know that to get the best of our sports routine, we need to balance it according to our provisions. Sometimes exercise is even more damaging than exercise. Rest is just as productive as training, since after an intensive session, our bodies need to rebuild the muscle layers that have been damaged. What it means is that even during rest our bodies have a very high productivity.
So embrace your rest days and not view them as failures, but as successes because your body is stabilising the benefits it has received during training.
The best solution, is to listen honestly to your body as well as consult an expert on the realisation of a personal routine that balances exercise and rest.
