The European Union has reacted to claims in Serbia calling “replication” the Recak massacre
In an answer to journalists. EU Enlargement and Foreign Policy Issues spokeswoman Maja Kocinanciq has conveyed the EU's stance that “has no room for denial or relativisation of events that took place in Recak in Kosovo in January 1999”, Koha Ditore reports.
<x0nimum and relativism are contrary to European Union values and against the Western Balkans' integration project in the European Union. By respecting the victims, authorities must refrain and work sincerely for a proper assessment of the past. The region needs reconciliation, stability and normalisation of the report”, the EU response said.
Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq, as the media have conveyed, had repeated what is often heard by other Serbian and Kosovo Serb officials that the Recak massacre “was the fiction of Ambassador Walker”.
