Edi Rama ousts Behgjet Pacolli from Albania

Behgjet Pacolli will not have hotels, SPA, Aqua Park, villas, golf apartments in Divjakeka, Albania.

Kosovo businessman, who also holds the post of deputy prime minister of Foreign Affairs Minister Behgjet Pacolli, is not liked in Albania.

The government led by Edi Rama has been unable to realise the Mabetex Group's plans for investments in the tourist area in Divjaka.

“Mabetex and Behgjet Pacolli has been eventually attracted by hundreds of millions of investment from Albania's most popular tourist area”, one of the close people of Behgjet Pacolli, specifically engaged in the Divjaca project.

The newspaper InFokus learns that attracting investment plans has come after an irritability of reports between Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Behgjet Pacolli.

Rama, the InFokus newspaper teaches, has not offered security for investments in Divjaka, Pacolli, noting even some property problems in the area where Kosovo deputy prime minister's giant resort would lie.

It is also taught that blocking investments has also come because of environmental opposition and overcoming plans that would greatly damage the area, which is protected as Park Nacional.

The newspaper inFokus has requested clarification by Mabetex Group leaders regarding this decision, but has not yet received answers.

What about Behgjet Pacolli's project for Divyaca?

The investment in Divjaca Behgjet Pacolli had taken it very seriously years earlier because of the highly attractive area where the resort would lie.

He was personally committed to the project and had not hesitated to compare it to the most popular resorts in Dubai.

The project is called “Divica Resort” and is projected to extend to 3,342 hectares of space, of which 200 hectares would be the beach, while 1,050 hectares would be forest. It was envisioned to build 370 villas and 2350 apartments, in which they would have the capacity overnight to accommodate 18,000 tourists.

To stimulate the development of wildlife and flora, the project also envisioned a lagoon of about 1,270 hectares.

The Kosovo businessman had immediately come from Albania's environmentalists. Even the legal violations of the master plan of the resort made by Mabetex were recorded.

This week, the Rama-led government has made another decision for the Pacolli family.

Businessman Editing Pacolli has been dismissed from the position of honourary consul of the Republic of Albania in Kosovo.

He has held this important position of honor for years. There are no reasons why the Republic of Albania has pushed them to honour in Kosovo through the image of businessman Pacolli.

He has benefited from Albania's diplomatic license plates. It has had the opportunity to cross the border without being controlled by the state authorities of Kosovo and Albania.

But, on Tuesday, top diplomat Gent Cakaj has estimated that Pacolli's image did not honor Albania and has decided to dismiss it.
