Serbia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, says the highly talked idea of the dual sovereignty of northern Kosovo is unacceptable for Serbia, as according to him a referendum could be held after a 10-year period, and Serbia will have to recognise Kosovo's independence,
However, he says no formal proposal has been made so far regarding such an idea.
These statements have been made by the chief of Serbian diplomacy during an interview in RTS, while talking about the April 29th meeting in the German capital, where it will be discussed specifically for Kosovo-Serbia relations.
Daciq says France and Germany's invitation to such a meeting has surprised Brussels, and adds that some countries are disappointed that they are not invited
“This meeting has been called and surprised even Brussels because it is not part of activities, but there are states that are disappointed that they are not invited, even though they are part of the Berlin process, such as Austria and Italy”, Dacic has said that even the United States will not be part of this meeting.
He says there is not expected to be any proposals for solutions in Berlin, but will only be a further pressure on Belgrade and Pristina to continue talks in Brussels.
“to continue the dialogue needs to remove taxes. That's our request. Maybe there'll be pressure to keep going, so we can go back to dialog”, he said among other things.
As far as pressure on Serbia is being put to stop lobbies against the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo, Dacic has said such a thing is impossible.
