Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman is the survivor of sexual violence during the 1999 war in Kosovo. Krasniqi is the first woman to have spoken out on the most sensitive issue during the war, sexual violence. In Kosovo this topic has been taboo, and such cases have not been reported at all or very little.
Sexual assaults committed during the recent war in Kosovo, by Serbian military and paramilitary formations have not yet been tried or convicted.
Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, is expected to speak tomorrow, 30 April before the US Congress. She has accepted the invitation from Kosovo conventioner and friend Eliot Engel to confess all experiences she has enjoyed during the recent period of war in Kosovo.
