Buying Reka 10 per cent, forces the Pendarovski run- Siljanovska

Blerim Reka will not be a candidate in the run-off for the next president of northern Macedonia. Although he did not have the support of all Albanian parties, the election result has thrilled Reka, who on Sunday evening after the elections, warned a new spring for the country.
With over 73 thousand votes collected or 12 per cent of voters, former Ambassador Reka has forced the runoff between LSDM candidate Stevo Pendarovski, who had the support of the other 31 parties, including Ali Ahmeti's DUI and the opposition candidate from VMRO- DPMNE, Gordana Siljanovska.
After counting over 90 per cent of the vote, Pendarovski has won over 42.62 per cent or 270 thousand votes, meanwhile Siljanovska has received 267 thousand votes or 42.46 per cent. The runoff will take place 5 May.
Compared to the recent parliamentary elections, the exit has been much lower, especially in Albanian majority settlements. Turnout has been 39.83 percent of the overall voting body, or 700 thousand citizens from over 1.8 million voters.
In addition to the low exit, over 30,000 votes have been invalid. The election for the fifth president, the first after changing the name to “Republic of Northern Macedonia”, has not gone through any major irregularities.
