Kosovo citizens arrested this Friday in the town of Kavaja, as the 6th suspect of the April 9th sensational robbery in Rinas, results in similar criminal precedents in Kosovo, where he was suspected of robbing 25kg of gold from the Chamber of Evidence at the Pec Police.
According to the “Eulex” prosecution, the theft of the amount of gold was committed over 3 months from February to April 2012. In fact, robbing such an amount is not a surprise, but the fact that it has been robbed within police facilities made the event sensational at the time in Kosovo media.
Stoled gold was allegedly extracted from police facilities by a lieutenant, then ended up in a goldsmith for smelting and heading towards Turkey through the Vermica border. There were six suspects in question, of whom two policemen were involved.
The theft of gold in the Peja Police Evidence Room was even suspected as a <x0-bullet” for the destruction of hundreds of evidence of serious crimes, mainly murders in the town of Pec.
