The chief indictee in the two mosque attacks in Christchurch, Brenton Tarrant, has appeared before the tribunal Saturday morning at local times in New Zealand.
In the white dress of prisoners and in handcuffs, the 28-year-old has only been charged with murder, but more charges are expected to weigh on him.
It will remain in custody until 5 April, when the next session is scheduled.
Two more are in custody, while none of them had a criminal precedent.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jaknda Ardern said Tarrant had five weapons and owned arms-holding licenses, warning there would be changes to the weapons enforcement laws.
