Official Kosovo Customs data shows that the amounts of wheat and flour that have been exported from Macedonia to Kosovo during this beginning of the year are much larger than those from last year.
Through the border point in Tabanoc, hundreds of trucks enter Macedonia daily and are packed with goods from Serbia. Many of these trucks, until taxes were imposed on Serbia and Bosnia, came directly to Kosovo.
After establishing this tax, as was warned by economic experts, Kosovo and Serbian businessmen have found new forms of co-operation, so Serbia's products are not missing on the Kosovo market.
Thus, many necessary products Kosovo has brought directly from Serbia are being introduced into the market through Kosovo and Serbia's common neighbour, which is the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
This state, based on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, through the processing of the first materials it is receiving in Serbia, is giving mainly the manufacturer's flour and oil orgyna as a product “Made in Macedonia”. As such, products do not need to subject the tax 100 percent.
Hundreds of trucks -- carrying out follow-up procedures on Kosovo's borders -- already wait at Macedonia's customs terminals to carry out such procedures.
Truck drivers from Serbia emptying wheat in Macedonia have confessed to a “show that wheat produced in Vojvodina brings to Macedonia.
“There are actually four trucks empty here”, says Goran Mirosavljevic, driver of a wheat truck emptying into Macedonia.
The owner of the mill where this wheat is emptied says they export only to Macedonia. However, he has not hesitated to show that in cases certain companies buy processed flour in Macedonia and bring the same in Kosovo.
The Adriatic Stavileci, Kosovo customs spokesman, has said there is increased import quantity from Macedonia.
And as long as the debate over whether or not to remove taxes in the country has deepened, the show Roads has found that companies are trying to find different ways to introduce Serbian products to Kosovo. Finally, a Kosovo company has attempted to present the oil “Dijamant” from Macedonia. In fact, this oil is originally from Serbia and the origin has proved to be given through a bill from a company in Macedonia. But the same company has been seized by Kosovo customs that forced it to submit to the tax.
Trade and Industry Minister Andrew Shala confirms this. And trade inspector Africa Fana has said that they have found quantities of peppers packaged with origin from Macedonia and that it has been entered “Love your”. So the same was intended to be sold to Kosovo as a Kosovo local product, even though the same were exported from Macedonia. These products have been returned, along with an amount of mushrooms.
