Returning home is every exile's dream.
But such a return had never been desired by Rifat Jashar.
It is June 29, 1999. A few days after Kosovo's liberation, the legendary commander's brother returns from Germany to Drenica. Members of the family who had left them in Prekaz before their departure to Germany find none alive.
Everybody's down. Rifat Jashar is accompanied by companions of the legendary commander to this meeting in Skenderaj before he sees Precazi.
Even in these difficult times, Rifat Jashar finds strength and tells them about the future of the country.
Moreover, it strengthens others who betrayed their emotions.
The grandchildren have also come along with Rifat; they too remain strong. Next, the Yashars ' men leave for Prekaz. The streets on both sides are crowded.
Nothing more than a glance is conveyed with the utmost respect for this man who is heading toward homes that he left full of members, and now empty and ruined.
On the front hill, as seen in these images shot by Halit Baran, the former human rights activist, are the Jasarash graves.
This is when the living meet with the fallen.
A few tears, and a lot of pride on this day filled with great excitement.
