Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech at the Diaspora Summit, said that today Albanians through Kosovo are facing a historic challenge that determines how those who have not yet been born will live after 30 years.
“There has been no and there will be nothing more dangerous and more hindering for Albanians than when they face Albanians, and when over small levels of the country or the political environment, they take the flag and turn it into a weapon to fight with each other about who is the traitor, who is the good or bad”, Rama said.
The Albanian executive chief said Kosovo's story is the story of the union, as all contributed to its freedom, while he said Kosovo is still not the place we all want to see.
Kosovo's “History is the history of uniting and over half a billion euros that people outside Kosovo rich and non-rich Albanian diaspora contributed to the liberation of Kosovo. The Union brought in Kosovo that we have today. But the Kosovo we have today is not yet the Kosovo we want. Which needs to be recognised by all, is not what should be brought down as much as everyone in the UN, which should be introduced as everyone in NATO and the EU, and this is a challenge for which everyone must contribute”, Rama said.
He also spoke of the situation in Albania, saying it is the same story as Albanians who come up against Albanians and make the country look down ahead of the internationals.
Rama spoke of reforms in justice, especially about fighting corruption, where he said the new justice system is still under way and is slowly being built.
