The European Parliament has voted on Thursday to continue the mandate for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens.
This vote has been part of a legal step in order to continue the mandate of this process even at the time of transition, as elections in the European Union will be held in May.
European Parliament rapporteur Tanja Fajon has said in a Twitter post that it is now up to the European Council to do its job.
“Summerca have voted in favour of visa liberalisation for Kosovo. We call on the European Council to act TANI”, it has indicated.
The European Parliament has discussed this issue Wednesday evening, and amid discussions among European representatives, there have been clear differences in attitudes on the issue.
Fajon has said Wednesday that the European Union has failed to fulfil its promises to Kosovo.
