EU-Serbia European Parliament Committee Chairman Edward Kukan, during a meeting with a delegation of Serbia's Parliament, said that prior to membership in the European Union, Belgrade and Pristina should reach legally binding, inclusive agreements, with which all existing problems are resolved, and that for this they should contribute both sides, Kohanet broadcasts.
The first step in this direction, as he put it, should be the removal of the tax from Pristina on products from Serbia.
Kukan has said Serbia and Kosovo should remain multiethnic and that whatever the agreement is, it can only be accepted if the two sides have agreed to it, in line with international law and if it takes into account overall stability in the region.
Kukan considers such an agreement can be reached if it has political will.
