A football-crazed couple in southwest France named “Greisman Mbpse” to their newborn son after winning the World Cup last year, but this is not allowed.
A court in Brive-la-Gallarde stripped the baby of both names, nearly five months after his birth, the local city council told the Agence France-Presse, translated Periscope.
Instead, parents have already named him Danyu Noe.
French families are now free to choose the first names of the children, while until 1993 they had to choose between a list of names approved but local authorities can bring parents to prosecutors if they believe that the names elections they make could harm children in any way.
A local official said the name “Gryzmann Mbppe” was in dispute with the child's interest.
The other name that has been declared illegal is also “Gihad” that refers to the Islamic holy war against Christians. /Periscopi
