This development brought numerous reactions, including the resignation of the British ambassador from the Kosovo Agency for Comparison and Verification of Property Board.
Bekim Salihu from the GAP Institute in RTV Dukagjini has said such a development is a pity.
This is showing that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are exploiting all the opportunities they are being given to appoint their people to the responsible institutions. This is for pity. Sadly, such appointments have also prompted the diplomatic chorus to react and distance themselves from such actions”.
Salihu has said that due to such acts, civil society organisations often do not participate in such commissions to legitimise these appointments.
“We see in advance that calls from institutions to participate in such commissions are not sincere. There are formal appeals to reason before the opinion that part of this assessment were also representatives of civil society”.
Civil society representative has said these violations have occurred despite the Kosovo government having had a memorandum of understanding with the British Embassy in Kosovo.
The British “Embassy in Pristina has had a monitoring and appreciative role in the process. Despite this role, illegal institutions have decided to appoint a contradiction person to a very important institution for the country. Therefore, I consider it to be a negative development and an additional evidence that people called to implement the law are becoming its violators, Bekim Salihu said, among other things.
