ESPN has listed the top 100 most famous athletes and to find those athletes, they began with 600 largest sports names, derived from 68 countries.
The ESPN Analysis Sports Group made the ranking based on a form that took into account three factors of fame, according to their official website.
Initially it was analysed which name is most wanted on Google, financial revenues from sponsors for every athlete and followers they have on social networks.
Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked first by this analysis, followed by LeBron James, who has greater financial benefits but on the other two factors is well below the Portuguese star. Lionel Mess climbs into third position.
